Application Process for ''European Inventor Award'' Has Begun

European Inventor Award 2018, which is organized by European Patent Office and which has been one of the most prestigious competitions for European inventors in recent years, has started accepting applications. Candidates are called to participate in the competition in 5 different categories, being "Industry", "SME", "University/Research Institutes", "Non-EPO Member Countries" and "Lifetime Success". Those who make it to the finals from among the applying candidates, will be announced in April 2018.

For the competition, candidates may be communicated to the e-mail address of european-inventor@epo.org until 16 October 2017.
Nomination of inventions from our country in this competition is important.

Necessary Criteria for the Invention
High level in terms of creativity
Easy to realize
Proved its success in European market or has potential
Has rather clear benefits to society and economy, increases employment, improves life quality and/or is environment-friendly

Applications That Will Not Be Considered
Inventions without European patent certificate
Patents with ongoing legal process due to challenging opinions
Patents with ongoing 9-month objection process
Nullified Patents
Patents that are expired in all EPO-member countries
Patents which made it to the finals in, or won, a previous European Inventor Award Competition
