According to TURKPATENT data; 1324 patent applications were filed in August of this year, with an increase of 10.7% compared to the previous year.
Looking at the distribution of this number by province, Istanbul ranks first with 162. Ankara ranked second with 71, Bursa in third place with 31, Izmir in fourth place with 25 and Eskişehir in fifth place with 14 applications.
In the number of trademark applications, there was an increase of 26.5% in August of this year, and the number of applications increased from 6840 to 8655 in proportion to last year.
The distribution of this number by provinces is as follows; while Istanbul ranks first with 3544 trademark applications, Ankara ranks second with 604. Izmir ranked third with 477 application number, Bursa in fourth place with 339, Antalya in fifth place with 281 application number.
When we look at the eight-month general total, while the number of patent applications made in eight months in 2018 was 10611, this number increased by 6.3% in 2019 and reached 11283.
In this eight-month period, the number of trademark applications increased by 5.8% from 76507 and reached 80959.
