According to the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, there is an increase in Intellectual Property Rights data in 2019. In 2019, domestic patent applications increased by 11% compared to last year and the number reached 8.126.
Looking at the distribution of this number by province, Istanbul ranks first with 3356 patent applications. Ankara ranked second with 985 applications, Bursa in third place with 526 applications, Izmir in fourth place with 407 applications, and Kocaeli in fifth place with 312 applications.
Trademark applications increased by 13% compared to last year, resulting in 134.353 trademark applications.
