The Cardiac Valve Designed By Turkish Scientist
The "cardiac valve" model designed by Karadeniz Technical University (KTÜ) Medical School Instructor Prof. Dr. Ömer Gedikli has been registered with national patent. In the statement he has published, Prof. Dr. Gedikli emphasized that surgical replacement of valves is not possible due to risks posed by advanced age or comorbidities and that the replacement of mitral valve using catheters by vascular means - without the need for open surgery - is an issue awaiting solution in patient groups. Pointing out to the fact that transcatheter mitral valve replacement has been experimented in other studies using numerous different designs, Gedikli stated that his design aims to coming up with a solution for the issues faced in transcatheter mitral valve replacement which makes treatment possible for inoperable mitral valve patients.

The Strongest Brands In 2021
The "Best Global Brands" report issued every year by the global brand consulting company Interbrand, featuring a list of the world's most valuable 100 brands of 2021, has come out. As the report suggests, the total value of the best 100 brands has risen from 2,326,491 million dollars in 2020 to 2,667,524 million dollars in 2021, corresponding to an increase of 15%. While technology still remains to be the fastest growing sector, Apple, Amazon and Microsoft lined up as the top three brands. These three brands account for 62.3% of the total value of the top ten brands. In 2021, the total revenue of the world's most valuable 100 brands increased by 42% and hit 7 trillion.

New Patent From Apple
The technological giant Apple filed a patent application in the United States Patent and Trademark Office for an iPhone made of glass. According to the drawings in the application by Apple, titled "electronic device with a glass case", the flight mode, Wi-Fi activation and volume setting buttons are located on the sides.

We joined the 143rd INTA organization that was held both physically and online between 5-19th November. As part of the organization, Destek Patent also attended a conference that took place in Berlin. The conference hosted discussions on the challenges and opportunities faced by brand owners operating in Europe.
