PALESTINE West Bank - The Ministry of National Economy in the West Bank
The Ministry of National Economy in the West Bank has introduced important changes to the trademark registration process:
Filing Without Documents: Trademark applications can now be submitted without any accompanying documents. However, a formal request letter for a one-month extension to provide missing documents must be submitted simultaneously. This extension can be renewed monthly for up to 12 months by paying a fee of JD 10 (approximately USD 14) per month. Extensions beyond 12 months require detailed justification, and applications lacking sufficient reasons will be denied.
Application Suspension Option: Applicants can now request a one-month suspension of their trademark application to accommodate related procedures. This suspension can be extended monthly for up to 12 months, with additional extensions subject to the approval of the Trademark Registrar based on detailed justifications. This allows applicants time to reach an amicable settlement, file oppositions, or initiate cancellation actions.
