WIPO Summer School on Intellectual Property Concludes in Astana

On June 28, 2024, the Summer School organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) jointly with the National Institute of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Qazpatent) concluded in Astana.

The WIPO Summer School provided intensive training in a hybrid format for two weeks for participants from the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation.

The Summer School teachers - representatives of WIPO, the Eurasian Patent Office, Qazpatent, patent attorneys, scientists, practicing lawyers - provided the audience with a full immersion in intellectual property law. The program of the event consisted of 32 topics covering patenting issues in Kazakhstan and abroad, collisions of trademarks with domain names and trade names, the international patent landscape, the protection of geographical indications and other relevant topics.
