EAPO Accredits Gazpromneft Science and Technology Center for Outsourced Patent Examination

On June 5, 2024, the Eurasian Patent Office accredited the first organization for outsourcing patent examination. The accredited organization is Gazpromneft Science and Technology Center LLC, within the framework of the Pilot Program for extended information search and preliminary assessment of the patentability of inventions.

Thanks to the Pilot Program, the applicant or the EAPO can involve narrowly specialized qualified experts in those areas of science and technology in which the high competence of these organizations is confirmed, to conduct search and examination. The accredited organizations conduct an extended information search so that industry experts can provide a preliminary assessment of the patentability of the claimed invention before the substantive examination stage at the EAPO. Scientific and educational organizations from all member states of the EAPO are entitled to participate in the Pilot Program.
