Iraq Trademark Office Implements New Regulations for Registration Procedures

As of April 4, 2024, the Iraq Trademark Office has introduced updated regulations governing trademark registration procedures. Under these new regulations, both filing and publication fees must be paid at the time of filing. Furthermore, it is now compulsory to provide a certified copy of the trademark registration certificate or its foreign equivalent for trademark applications that encompass goods falling under class 5 (Pharmaceutical and veterinary preparations and sanitary preparations for medical purposes). This document must be legalized through the Iraqi Consulate.
