Clearview AI, the US-based company that provides facial recognition technologies to law forces, has been under criticism for collecting data without people’s consent. The controversial technology has received approval from US officials. Clearview AI said in a statement that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) will patent facial recognition technology after the company makes the necessary payments.
