In addition to updated versions of the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z fold, South Korean tech maker Samsung is set to launch an all-new dual-hinged and double-folding smartphone this year.

Aiming to expand scenarios for flexible display devices, the device may be used as a laptop thanks to an additional hinge and a third of the screen may be utilized as a touch keyboard.

The report said: "This phone was designed to match the aspect ratio of the unfolded screen to the generally accepted 16:9 or 18: 9. So, more video games and other applications can run on the device more smoothly and at higher resolutions."

Samsung already holds several patents for the dual-hinged design. One of them is expected to be implemented this year. The company also acknowledged that the global crisis in the supply of micro-circuits could become a problem with the introduction of new devices in the period from April to June. But the manufacturer indicated that they put extra effort to handle the problem. There are rumors that this double-folding and extraordinary smartphone would be released at the end of this year. The price and specifications of the device are not yet clear.
