The field of intellectual and Intellectual property rights that has been governed by decree law since 1995 now gets to gain law for the first time. It is expected that the Law of Intellectual and Intellectual Property Rights Code will be approved by the assembly in October or November. Destek Patent has done a research to see the table of Turkey's branding episode between 1995 - 2016, when "decree law" was effective. The payoff table of the research involving the last eighteen years (1998 - 2015) is as follows: (The numbers represent the number of trademarks registered in 18 years.)

Assessing the numbers, Şengül Balcı Mete, the Director of the Support Units of Destek Patent, pointed out "the difference between trademark applications and trademark registrations" and interpreted the results: "We based our research on trademark registrations. I must say that not all trademark applications made to Turkish Patent and Trademark Office with the demand of registration will be accepted. The numbers are categorized based on the class of most widely accepted occupations. The list of top ten occupational groups indicates the occupational groups that are most desirous of branding. It's been observed that individuals, institutions, sectors, cities, and countries which value their brands and invest in their brands become more selective in consumer perception and more successful."
619.412 trademarks were registered between the years 1995 - 2015. 323.595 of them were made in İstanbul. Ankara has the second place with a number of 45.954. Third place is İzmir's with 37.940; fourth is Bursa's with 26.704; and Bursa has the fifth place with 14.984. The city where the number of trademark registration is lowest is Bayburt, with only 53 registrations.
When it comes to interpreting the numbers nation-wide, the table follows:
The country where the number of trademark applications made to Turkish Patent and Trademark Office between the years 1995-2015 is the highest is United States of America with 36.350 applications. America is followed by Germany, Switzerland, and Italy respectively.
