The first in Turkey: TOGG to win iF Design Awards 2021

Turkey’s Automobile Joint Venture Group (TOGG) has become the first company from Turkey to win iF Design Awards 2021, one of the most prestigious awards in the world in the mobility category. TOGG C-SUV, designed by TOGG and Pininfarina design teams designed with 150 thousand hours of work and registered in 27 EU countries along with China, Japan, and Russia, was awarded in the “Professional Concept” category.

This year, about 10 thousand products and projects from 52 countries competed for iF Design Awards. 98 independent jury members from 21 countries carried out a comprehensive evaluation to determine the best designs in the world for iF Design Awards, known as the symbol of design excellence in the international arena and given since 1954.

“We are proud of our original design”

TOGG CEO Gürcan Karakaş, whose views were included in the company statement, stated that they were proud to be awarded the iF Design Award:

“We realized our design goals and the technical specifications of our vehicle by assessing user insights. We received support from our world-renowned designer Murat Günak, who recently joined our team, in reducing the number of domestic and foreign design houses from 18 to three, in the formation of the final design theme and in the selection process of Pininfarina, which rendered the award-winning theme 3-dimensional.” Being recognized with such a qualified award for our original design, which we developed by the inspiration from our culture and registered in 27 EU countries and China, Japan, and Russia so far, encourages us to do better.”

According to the information provided, TOGG will produce 5 different electrical and connected models in a common platform by 2030.
